The Tennessee Department of Education recently announced the results of its annual school accountability model. These designations reflect overall performance and growth for a school. Bartlett City Schools is pleased to announce that Altruria Elementary, Bartlett Elementary, Bon Lin Elementary, Oak Elementary, Rivercrest Elementary, and Bartlett High School (including the Bartlett Ninth Grade Academy) have been awarded Reward school status, placing them among the top schools in the state for improving overall student academic achievement and student growth for all students and student subgroups. The results also show that Bartlett City Schools is among the top ten in performance statewide in 3rdgrade English and Language Arts and is one of only seven districts to improve math scores for students in grades 3-8.
In addition to raising overall achievement, Bartlett City Schools also saw impressive gains in students’ growth, earning straight 5’s in system-wide TVAAS scores and an overall Level 5 score. Bartlett City Schools was named as an Advancing district, the second-highest achievement for meeting growth expectations. Superintendent Dr. David Stephens expressed, “Having multiple schools recognized as Reward schools is a direct result of the committed work that our students, teachers, staff, and parents do every day. I am extremely proud to have our district and multiple schools honored for their efforts and look forward to building on this success.”
