Bartlett City Schools (BCS) recently received state-wide recognition at the Tennessee School Board Association’s (TSBA) annual convention held in Nashville, TN. Bartlett High School was chosen as the winner in the renovation category as the “2021 School of the Year” for its excellence in architectural design. Bartlett High School was also named the winner of the “School of the Year People’s Choice Award” as voted on by school board members and superintendents throughout the State of Tennessee. Both awards recognize the Built for Bartlett renovation work and excellence in design by Fleming Architects and their teams at the Bartlett High School campus.
The renovation work began on Bartlett High School in 2018 with Fleming Architects serving as the principal architects on the Built for Bartlett project. The updates to Bartlett High School touches nearly every function and core space of the campus including expanded classroom and instructional space, new administrative offices, expanded classroom and lab space for Career & Technical Education, new Fine Arts classrooms, and renovated STEM classrooms. Enhancements to the school’s common spaces include a new gymnasium, cafeteria, and performance auditorium. Athletic spaces were also improved as well as exterior improvements including a new main entry, unification of the building facades, expanded parking, updates to the existing football stadium and practice field.
