Bartlett City Schools is pleased to announce that Katie McCain has been selected as the new principal at the Bartlett High School Ninth Grade Academy beginning with the 2022-2023 academic school year.
Mrs. McCain holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Mississippi. Her educational experience spans nearly twenty years where she started as a math teacher at the Millington High School Freshman Academy. Mrs. McCain also served as the lead district math teacher with Shelby County Schools and as an Assistant Principal at Millington Central High School. Mrs. McCain started her career with BCS as the district’s first 6-12th Instructional Supervisor, a position she has held for the last eight years. As Instructional Supervisor she helped lead the team creating our Bartlett Ninth Grade Academy. She also developed and continues to support our Bartlett City Schools Honors Academy, which provides students with the opportunity to further their academic skills in preparation for college, as well as supporting professional development for our 6-12th teachers, and curriculum implementations in all subject areas.
Dr. David Stephens, Superintendent of Bartlett City Schools, stated, “I am proud to announce Katie McCain as the new Bartlett Ninth Grade Academy principal. Katie was instrumental in helping our district create and launch the Academy during our first year. She has a been a key member of the Bartlett City Schools district team from day one and I am excited to see the Academy continue to flourish under her leadership.”
Katie, who is a product of Bartlett schools, is married to Nick and together they have two children. Katie is thrilled to continue her educational career at the Academy and is looking forward to serving in this new role.
