Bartlett City Schools is excited to announce that Susan Lawson has been selected as the new principal at Oak Elementary School, beginning with the 2024-2025 school year.
Mrs. Lawson has been an educator for over twenty-three years, spending fifteen of those years at Altruria Elementary School in various capacities, including six years as Assistant Principal. Mrs. Lawson has also served our district Elementary & Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER) Supervisor and currently serves as our Professional Development and Evaluation Supervisor at Central Office. Her educational experience also includes roles as a classroom teacher, Professional Learning Community (PLC) coach, and overseeing the school's Title I funds to ensure compliance with all federal requirements. Mrs. Lawson received her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from the University of Memphis and her Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Mrs. Lawson is thrilled to step into her new role as principal and return to helping students succeed in the classroom. She looks forward to supporting the teachers and staff at Oak Elementary and continuing to build on the excellence that Oak is accustomed to. She is thankful for the overwhelming support that Oak has, and she is committed to building on relationships with parents and the community.
