Parents will have students read Franklin D. Roosevelt's First Inaugural Address. Students will make a summary outline of FDRs major points. Students will write a short essay of three to five paragraphs using three questions as a prompt for what the student chooses to focus on it their short essay. PROMPTS *Who does President Roosevelt blame for the current situation, what role does the government play in solving the dilemma, and what role do ordinary American citizens have in the nation’s recovery? *According to President Roosevelt, what are the nation’s real problems and what measures will be taken to solve those problems? *The President states that he will use "broad Executive power" to confront the situation. Why does Roosevelt think this will be necessary and what might he do with this power according to his speech?

You can create the kahoot using the link below. create.kahoot.it *** Remember if you have already started a kahoot for the previous lessons just add the to your current Kahoot. -Name the Kahoot as follows: If Bobby Buchet made the Kahoot, name it “Bobby Buchet’s U.S. History Review” -Each question should cover a different standard and include the standards number in the question -Each Question must have four answer choices and with a time limit of at 20-30 seconds to answer -Each Question should include an image with something to have to do with the question (like a picture of Elvis for a standard on Rock and Roll in the 50’s) -Make sure to test out your Kahoot when finished to make sure it is made public We will be adding onto this Kahoot every week we are out. When we return the U.S. History Teachers will determine which student’s Kahoot was the highest quality and they will be awarded a prize.

At the bottom of the Article the term Harlem Renaissance is in red and underlined. Click on the word Harlem Renaissance and read the article it takes you to. Write a 6 word story about the Harlem Renaissance. Remember a 6 word story gives a full picture of the event using only 6 words. It should NOT just be a list of words. It should be 6 words that together tell a full story. For example: a 6 word story about 9/11 could be: Towers fell but America stood tall.
